About Us

Erin Johnson, LPC, LMFT, FAMI

Erin was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and grew up enjoying the many records her parents played, among them Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra. She remembers her allowance money was often spent on records, the first being the Beatles, of course! Her parents encouraged her to further immerse herself in music through lessons on the electric guitar. Music was also a comfort and friend when her family encountered many difficult moments during her childhood and adolescence. Music has continued to be a source of inspiration and joy, as
well as solace during the personal, career, and health challenges Erin has faced. She feels these life experiences have helped her trust in each person’s capacity to find their way through difficult times, and music, journaling and creating art have played an important part in her healing. She is grateful for her creativity, optimism, curiosity, respectful nature, and sense of humor, and brings these qualities to her work as a coach, counselor, and workshop facilitator.

Erin is a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Charlottesville, Virginia, with over twenty years experience helping people navigate personal, health, and career transitions. She is also a Creativity and Life Coach, specializing in wellness, stress reduction, and accessing creativity. She is a primary trainer, supervisor and faculty of the Atlantis Institute for Consciousness and Music (formerly the Mid-Atlantic Institute), and Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery. She has loved nature, reading, hiking and biking, and laughing with friends since she was a child. She lives near Charlottesville, Virginia with her husband and best friend Kim (a generous, thoughtful and kind soul, who will drop just about anything to go skiing or play tennis)and two furry children, Aynsley (a calico cat possessed of strange behaviors, but loving demeanor) and Katy (a compact, devious, and deceptively innocent looking orange cat with a voracious appetite).

Cara Marinucci, LPC, FAMI

Cara grew up exploring the outdoors with an abundant curiosity for the natural world in all it’s diversity. Moving from the snow of Rochester, NY to the sandy beaches of Ft. Lauderdale, FL to the rolling hills of Switzerland of Ohio provided a physical journey that engaged her innate sense of adventure and a connection of the inner world to the outer world. Her love of music began with her grandmother’s piano and the desire to connect with the sound by placing her tiny hands on the keys. Later, she would sit up on the tin roof and play cassettes until the tape wore out, allowing music to inspire, console, and nurture her. All of these experiences provided a deep sense of how to be present in a tumultuous world. She continues to explore both the outer and inner worlds through walking, hiking, traveling, writing poetry, listening to music, creating art, and meditating.

Cara is a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Charlottesville, Va and has over twenty years experience working with adults, adolescents, families, groups, and organizations to facilitate transformation and growth. She has an extensive background providing and implementing services across the spectrum of wellness and clinical care, including work with organizations and schools. This has given her an appreciation for the many ways people can access resiliency, create solutions, and develop their capacity for change. She is a primary trainer, supervisor, and faculty of Atlantis Institute for Consciousness and Music (formerly the Mid-Atlantic Institute), and Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery.
